Trampoline parks are the craze that bounced across the pond in 2014.
It is part of a wider launch of Ozone Lothian, the action sports centre in Mayfield Industrial Estate in Dalkeith which will also house Transgression Park, East Coast Riders - who supply and service bikes - a hall for hire and a cafe.
Ryze co-founder Erik Haugen confirmed to STV that the park will be opening in January and says it is a facility he thinks Scotland will be jumping for joy about.
“We have been working on projects throughout the UK and Scotland was one of those special places we felt like our business would be perfect for,” said 43-year-old Erik.
“We have built a lot of parks in the US. During the last couple of years, we decided that we wanted to expand internationally and bring the concept around the world. We opened our first international park in Hong Kong last year. It really took off.”
The 10,000 sq ft warehouse space has been given some flair with mural work by artist Smug and features a trampoline dodgeball arena, an Olympic-style foam pit, aerial skills section, parkour boxes, basketball courts and a 'fidget ladder'.
The park will feature an area for children under six and there will also be a three-hour slot every Monday for families.
“The trampoline parks cater really well to anyone who is interested in sports or physical activity,” Erik said.
“When you walk in, it is this expansive space. If you are into snowboarding, it’s a great place to come and practice building up agility.”
Last year, Erik’s company launched the biggest trampoline park in the world.
With over 20 parks now under their belt, the Dalkeith opening will be quickly followed by a January launch in Glasgow in the Kinning Park area of the city.
“I have been travelling back and forth [to Scotland] around seven times in the last year and it has become really personal to me,” Erik said.
“Our objective is for each park to have its own personality and be a unique place.”
Ryze Edinbugrh will be open from 10am to 11pm between Sunday to Thursday and from 10am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday.
